What this talented photographer captured is truly mesmerizing

A couple months ago I did a post on some breathtaking methane bubbles that can form in fresh water lakes, under the right conditions.

Readers, I have a treat for all of you.

Fortunately I've recently been given permission to feature a few photos from the talented landscape photographer Chip Phillips taken at Abraham Lake, Alberta to better illustrate the beauty of these special gas bubbles.

Enjoy, and check out his website if you get the chance. Also, at the end of the photo series I've featured a video by professor Katey Walter Anthony from the University of Alaska that illustrate the explosive potential of these methane bubbles.
