A passage of a vigorous front is imminent:
As the cold front passes, mixing from the upper levels of the atmosphere and momentum associated with the cold front along with the high pressure gradient will produce strong gusty winds tonight...
How windy do you think it will be?
Comment below and enter a guess. No prize on the line, this is simply for fun.
If you're completely lost and don't know where to begin I'll give you a couple weather models and figures:
1) Time-height plot of NAM model
2) Map of predicted surface winds from High Resolution LAM-West model
3) This graph shows a variety of wind speed forecasts for YVR. Dotted lines indicate a special calculation using momentum transfer, and are significantly higher than predicted gusts by the majority of the other models
There's many, many other sources of info you could check for peak winds, but I don't want to overwhelm anyone. If you have a question, or are have trouble reading some of these figures please comment below. If you're too uncomfortable to comment below make up a name.
If making up a name makes you uncomfortable, send me a quick email.
What does Environment Canada think? They're going with 60-90 km/hr, but still awaiting the updated evening forecast.
EDIT: it's been brought to my attention I didn't guess. I was hoping no one would notice
Guess: 83 km/hr Direction WNW
